Emily Hansen
Emily was adopted from Guiyang, China, and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She began her studies at Pikes Peak State College, where her calling for chemistry was solidified after taking her first general chemistry course. Her experience in two NSF REU programs at Boston University and the University of Pennsylvania fueled her interest in research. She later transferred to the Colorado School of Mines to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Emily aims to obtain a PhD and continue in research after completing her bachelor’s. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, reading, and listening to music.
